Insights
Massachusetts brings a variety of species during the fall migration south, so if you're looking for a specific type of bird like sea ducks it's important to know when to book your hunt.
Common birds to shoot season round include but not limited to Black Ducks, Gadwall, Widgeon, Bufflehead, Mallards, Mergansers and Geese. The sea ducks and majority of the divers like bluebills, goldeneyes, scoters, eiders etc. won't show up until later into the season around end of November.
Again, that's with typical weather and we all know how mother nature works...."mysteriously." We will always make the effort to go out even in some nasty weather, however if it's decided that the weather will be affecting your safety and ours, we will not go. This is the ocean at the end of the day, it kills people for a living an here at Salty- Mutt Outdoors we will not operate based on a chance. It will be very unlikely that a hunt gets cancelled because of the weather but in the event it happens we will have a backup plan at the time of cancellation.
